37歲的吉諾比利（Manu Ginobili）通過社交帳號宣佈下賽季將繼續為馬刺效力。

上賽季，馬刺首輪被快艇在搶七生死戰中淘汰，讓吉諾比利考慮是否退休。

馬刺與阿爾德里奇（LaMarcus Aldridge）達成加盟協定後，再迎來好消息，GDP之一的吉諾比利也同意為球隊再戰1年。吉諾比利和鄧肯（Tim Duncan）、帕克（Tony Parker）的GDP組合，目前征戰了13個賽季。

即使吉諾比利的攻守數據在幾個賽季來明顯下降，職業生涯季賽平均得14.3分，季後賽平均得15.2分。但總教練波波維奇（Gregg Popovich）仍希望愛將能征戰他在馬刺的第14個賽季。吉諾比利的豐富經驗，被馬刺認為是球隊爭冠路上的重要拼圖，他們將在新賽季問鼎3年裡的第二冠。

吉諾比利曾在馬刺國度的專欄上寫道，「波波告訴我和鄧肯說，他希望我們倆下賽季能繼續為球隊打球，」如今他又添加，「我很高興地宣佈下賽季我會繼續打球，馬刺加油，呆呆（鄧肯）你不要太想我。」

不久前鄧肯已經宣佈將征戰自己的第19個賽季，吉諾比利做出相同的選擇也是在意料之中。新賽季GDP將繼續和波波維奇攻城拔寨，而且至少又多出一個強力幫手：阿爾德里奇。
